Helena is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Intuitive Eating counselor! She is dedicated to helping her clients re-discover a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. Her passion for working in the eating disorder field began with her work at the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient (PHP/IOP) levels of care, where she grew determined to educate and bridge the gap between ‘chronic dieting’ and ‘intuitive eating’. Over the years she has found a deeper connection working with co-morbid health challenges that many times accompany disordered eating such as gastrointestinal conditions, Crohn’s Disease, and Hormonal Imbalances. Her love for science and physiology flows into her sessions and practices of nutrition, body, and reframing. In all her practices she leads with the Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® (HAES) principles as she guides her clients toward food freedom.

Helena is a Board-Certified Nutrition Specialist and CNS® approved Supervisor. She has her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from George Washington University and Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. In addition to Helena’s nutritional expertise, she completed her Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Certification to bridge the gap between intuitive nutrition and gentle movement. She uses the principles of connection to breath and body to help clients feel empowered in their skin and explore breathing techniques to help combat anxiety throughout recovery. In her free time, Helena loves spending time with her dog and cat, exploring new trails and hikes in Virginia with her husband, and making time to be creative through painting and pottery.
